Here's simple tip to view Whatsapp status without giving status view.
Here are the simple steps.
All the Photos/Videos of WhatsApp Status are stored in your internal memory and you can view them easily, if your file explorer lets you view hidden files.
You can use ES File Explorer or ZArchiver.
Path of Status ( Photos/Videos)
/sdcard/WhatsApp/Media/.Statuses/
Note that Status folder has a .(dot) in beginning means its hidden folder.
